On November 11, 2025, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan Hamid Khoshimzoda met with the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Tajikistan Alejandro Arias Zarzuela at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan. This was reported by the press center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in education and science and expressed their willingness to strengthen mutually beneficial relations.
The First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan expressed satisfaction with the official visit of the Dominican Republic's ambassador, noting it as an important step in strengthening bilateral ties in education and science. It was noted that the Republic of Tajikistan and the Dominican Republic restored diplomatic relations in 2010 and, in recent years, through high-level meetings and joint initiatives, have created favorable conditions for cooperation in the international arena.
It was emphasized that the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan is ready to develop cooperation in the areas of exchanging experience in higher and vocational education, implementing joint educational programs and student exchanges, supporting technical and vocational education projects with the involvement of international partners, and collaborating within international organizations.
Given the Dominican Republic's extensive experience in higher education management, it was stated that Tajikistan is ready to consider new opportunities for the exchange of specialists, teachers, and students.
Furthermore, given the diplomatic experience of Ambassador Alejandro Arias Zarzuela, who has served in various countries, including Brazil, Peru and Spain, confidence was expressed that this visit would play an important role in the further development of bilateral cooperation in the field of education.
