Representatives of the Republic of Tajikistan's healthcare system participated in a two-day regional seminar held in Amman, Jordan, the country's Ministry of Health and Social Protection reported.
The event, organised by the Wellcome Trust Global Health Initiative, aims to discuss current regional and international health issues.
The workshop brought together representatives from 35 countries, including key national institutions, experts, and international partners, who shared experiences and discussed best practices in public health.
During the workshop, participants discussed and agreed on issues related to the development of a public health network, as well as plans and timelines for collecting, analyzing, and submitting reports on the action plan's priority areas. These included assessing the current state of the regional healthcare system, management and financing issues, identifying strengths, gaps, and challenges, and other priority areas.
Additionally, issues of effective global health shaping were analyzed, including roles and structures, setting priorities, developing recommendations and practical steps, including implementing priority reforms, identifying areas of alignment and differences with stated goals, and preparing regionally informed proposals to inform health reforms.
Following the event, discussions were held with representatives from Tajikistan on cooperation with the analytical department of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan to join Middle East and Central Asian initiatives in public health development. The parties expressed their willingness to further collaborate and exchange experiences.
