Perplexity AI, a leading global artificial intelligence company based in San Francisco, has joined the Area AI Consortium, which is being established in Tajikistan as part of the world's first Special Artificial Intelligence Zone. This was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Perplexity AI's collaboration with the Area AI ecosystem will be realized through the integration of Comet, the world's first agent-based AI browser, as part of the "AI-GOV" project in collaboration with epsilon3.ai. Implementing these solutions in Tajikistan will allow Area AI to become a regional hub for the export of Perplexity AI technologies as part of the "AI-GOV" initiative.
The agreement was officially announced during the C5+1 summit held in Washington, in the presence of US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir.
As part of Area AI, companies developing and exporting artificial intelligence solutions will be based in Zone 2—the Applied AI Hub—the Special AI Zone. The investment consortium overseeing the creation and development of Area AI is led by zypl.ai.
Collaboration with Perplexity AI involves the active implementation of advanced AI technologies in the Tajik economy, the development of digital infrastructure, and the creation of conditions for the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of artificial intelligence.
The Area AI project, which includes Perplexity AI, aims to stimulate innovation, improve the effectiveness of public administration through the implementation of AI solutions, and develop the export potential of technologies in Central Asia.
