At the invitation of US President Donald Trump, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon departed Doha for Washington, D.C., to participate in the Central Asia-United States of America summit. This was reported by the press service of the President of Tajikistan.
The head of state's visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation, discussing current issues of regional security, economic development, and mutually beneficial partnership between the countries of Central Asia and the United States of America.
The press service noted that the departure of the President of Tajikistan underscores the strategic importance of relations between Tajikistan and the United States and the desire of both sides to expand political dialogue and implement joint projects in the fields of economics, science, education, and humanitarian cooperation.
