Tajikistan's Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Mukhriddin met with Japan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tajikistan, Keiko Furuta. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects for developing bilateral relations, as well as issues of cooperation within international organizations. Particular attention was paid to projects in the fields of education and training.
Following the negotiations, a signing ceremony was held between the governments of Tajikistan and Japan to sign exchange notes on the Human Resources Development Scholarship (JDS) Project. This project, implemented as part of Japan's Official Development Assistance (ODA) program, aims to train highly qualified specialists for government agencies and other key sectors of the economy.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the JDS program allows Tajik specialists to study at leading Japanese universities, which contributes to strengthening human resources and developing bilateral cooperation in education and science.
