Following his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump is holding phone conversations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and several European leaders, Fox News reported.
According to the television channel, the contacts are taking place live immediately following the conclusion of the summit, which took place at Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. The report clarified that the head of the White House is briefing his foreign counterparts on the content and outcome of his conversation with the Russian president.
Earlier on August 15, Trump and Putin held a three-on-three meeting, attended by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff, and on the Russian side by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov. The talks lasted over two and a half hours.
Following the meeting, the two leaders held a joint press conference to discuss key international security issues, including the situation in Ukraine and the prospects for a ceasefire.
