Three traffic accidents have been recorded on Tajikistan's roads, resulting in four deaths and one serious injury, according to law enforcement officials.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan, on August 14 at approximately 10:30 PM in the Jabborrasul district, the driver of an Opel Astra, Behzod Saimatov, born in 2004, lost control of his vehicle and struck cyclist Sharifjon Karimov, born in 1965. He died at the scene from severe injuries.
Twenty minutes later, at around 10:50 PM, on the highway between the cities of Bokhtar and Levakant, the driver of a Lexus, Shamshod Tojiddinzoda, born in 1993, struck a pedestrian, Abdullo Shaimanov, a resident of the Vakhsh district. The victim died on the way to the hospital.
On August 15, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a major accident involving three vehicles occurred on the Dushanbe-Rasht highway near the town of Roghun. The driver of a Toyota Corolla Verso, Safolov Saidakhmad, born in 1961, crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a Toyota Camry driven by Nazriev Khizirali, before crashing into a Shacman truck.
As a result of the accident, the Camry driver and his passenger, a seven-year-old boy, died at the scene. Another passenger, Khusnigul Kamalova, born in 1986, was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
An investigation has been opened into all facts of the accident and is ongoing.
