Experts from CIS countries have agreed on a draft of the Main Activities for Cooperation between the Commonwealth Member States in the Field of Culture for 2026-2028.
An additional meeting of the expert group to finalize and approve the draft Key Activities for Cooperation between CIS Member States in the Field of Culture for 2026–2028 took place on August 20 at the Commonwealth headquarters, the press service of the Organization's Executive Committee reported.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States, and the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth.
The experts reviewed the countries' comments and proposals, finalized, and agreed on the draft Key Actions. It was decided to submit the document to the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States for consideration in accordance with established procedures.
As a reminder, the project was prepared on the instructions of the Council for Cultural Cooperation for the practical implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Culture of May 15, 1992 and the Concept of Cooperation of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the Sphere of Culture of May 19, 2011.
The document consists of ten sections and includes 130 international and national events in various areas of cultural cooperation: in the field of preservation and use of historical and cultural heritage sites, in the protection of intangible historical and cultural heritage and folk art, in museums, libraries, theater, music, fine arts, cinematography, as well as cooperation in the fields of science, education and personnel training.
The adoption of the document will contribute to the creation of conditions for deepening intercultural dialogue and increasing the interest of CIS countries in organizing and holding joint cultural events.
