President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon participated in and addressed the SCO-Plus meeting on "Implementing Multilateralism, Ensuring Regional Security, and Promoting Sustainable Development," according to the presidential press service.
In his address, Emomali Rahmon thanked the Chinese leadership for creating favorable conditions for the forum. The President noted the significant role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in developing multilateral cooperation and drew the participants' attention to current international issues and solutions to global problems.
The Tajik leader informed the meeting participants about projects being implemented in the country in priority areas—transport, hydropower, industry, and other areas—emphasizing their importance for the region's sustainable development.
Emomali Rahmon paid special attention to issues of combating modern challenges and threats, emphasizing the need for states to unite their efforts to ensure peace and stability.
The President of Tajikistan recalled the country's global initiatives, including issues of ensuring access to drinking water and preserving glaciers, and called on international and regional organizations to actively cooperate in these areas.
