The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan expressed condolences to the people of Afghanistan in connection with the death and injury of a large number of people as a result of a strong earthquake that occurred in the eastern regions of the neighboring country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' official statement noted that Tajikistan deeply mourns the loss of the lives of its fraternal Afghan people. The ministry conveyed its sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims and expressed hope for a speedy recovery for the injured.
"The Republic of Tajikistan shares the grief of the Afghan people and expresses its sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims. We wish a speedy recovery to all those injured," the statement reads.
Earlier, media reported significant destruction in Afghanistan's eastern provinces, where the earthquake caused numerous casualties and damaged infrastructure. International organizations are already sending humanitarian aid and assessing the damage.
