More than 100 teachers from Russia have begun working in 27 secondary schools in Tajikistan as part of the "Russian Teacher Abroad" project, TASS reported, citing the press service of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in the republic.
In the new academic year, 109 Russian teachers are participating in the project, working in public and private schools in nine cities and two districts across the country. The Russian teachers teach biology, Russian language and literature, mathematics, chemistry, physics, computer science, and geography. Among them are primary school teachers.
Tajikistan became the first country to implement the "Russian Teacher Abroad" humanitarian program in 2017. Over the next few years, the project has become an integral part of the country's educational system. Until 2023, 47 teachers from Russia worked in Tajik schools.
The program is being implemented by the Russian Ministry of Education in conjunction with national relevant agencies in partner countries, including Tajikistan, and is aimed at improving the quality of education and strengthening humanitarian ties between the countries.
