The 107th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will be held in the capital of Tajikistan on September 5, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee told NIAT Khovar.
The meeting is being held during Tajikistan's chairmanship of the organization and will be chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khokim Kholikzoda. Deputy Prime Ministers of the member states responsible for economic affairs will participate in the Council's work.
The agenda includes a discussion of key areas of economic and digital cooperation in the CIS:
Strategy for digitalization of the main multimodal transport corridors of the CIS member states;
Strategy for cooperation in the development of the information society and digital economy for the period up to 2035;
Strategy for scientific and technological development of the CIS for 2026–2035;
Action plan for the preparation and implementation of the Year of Health in the Commonwealth in 2026.
Following the meeting, the draft documents under consideration will be submitted for consideration to the CIS Council of Heads of Government.
During the meetings, participants will discuss ways to deepen economic cooperation, exchange experiences in digitalization and science, and strengthen cooperation in healthcare and social policy within the CIS.
