Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli (Parliamentary Assembly) and Mayor of Dushanbe Rustami Emomali attended the opening ceremony of the new building of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic. This was reported by the presidential press service.
The modern administrative building, erected on Shevchenko Street in the Ismoili Somoni district, consists of nine floors and a basement. It houses executive offices, the central administration, centers for implementing state investment projects, and subordinate agencies, which were previously located in separate buildings.
A Digitalization and Innovation Center has been established on the ground floor of the new facility. It is equipped with air and water monitoring systems, solid waste landfill management systems, and digital tools for tracking greenery growth and defining the boundaries of specially protected natural areas using satellite data. The Center employs programmers and industry specialists.
The President toured the Center's facilities and praised the quality of the construction work. He emphasized the importance of effectively using new technologies in environmental protection and encouraged young professionals to actively implement innovations for the benefit of the country.
The new building is equipped with 92 offices, a 150-seat boardroom, two conference rooms, a library, an archive, and a basement for company vehicles. 100 solar panels with a total capacity of 70 kWh are installed for energy supply.
Construction of the facility began in 2022. The client was the Committee for Environmental Protection, and the contractor was the domestic company Maksad LLC. The work was financed by the agency.
The area around the building has been landscaped, with evergreen trees and flowers planted and street lighting installed. The opening of the new building coincides with the 34th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence.
Industry workers expressed gratitude to the President for his attention to environmental issues and ongoing support.
