Officers from the Firdavsi District Department of Internal Affairs No. 2 detained 63-year-old Latifa Artikova, a resident of the capital, for fortune-telling for financial gain, the Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs' press service reported .
According to the agency, Artikova used candles, harmala, water, and other items for fortune-telling in her home, claiming she could eliminate problems and ease the suffering of citizens. City residents sought her help, paying for her services, which qualifies as illegal profit.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against the detainee under Article 482 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan. By the court's decision, Latifa Artikova was fined 80 times the minimum wage, or 6,000 somoni.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that such actions violate the law and are aimed at misleading citizens. Law enforcement agencies continue to monitor such cases to protect the rights and interests of the public.
