The China-Tajikistan Innovation Center for Natural Products has commissioned a small-scale production facility for medicinal plants native to Tajikistan, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan reports.
The workshop is equipped with over 20 modern pharmaceutical machines, provided with the assistance of the Xinjiang Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. A non-repayable grant of 1.5 million somoni was allocated for the center's development.
The main goal of installing the new equipment is to develop and implement technologies for producing medicinal products from the studied medicinal plants. The center's scientists have already conducted the first experiments and presented the results to the leadership of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.
The innovation center was created to strengthen scientific cooperation between Tajikistan and China in fundamental and applied research in the natural and technical sciences. The center aims to develop high-tech products, including medical drugs and natural products, using Tajikistan's unique flora.
The project's implementation opens new opportunities for the development of the republic's pharmaceutical industry and the expansion of international scientific cooperation.
