As part of a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation, Tajikistan's Finance Minister Fayziddin Kahhorzoda met with Russia's Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, NIAT Khovar reports.
The parties emphasized the importance of the high level of bilateral partnership and noted Russia's role as Tajikistan's strategic partner. It was noted that trade turnover between the countries in 2024 amounted to approximately $2 billion.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between the finance ministries of the two countries and the expansion of joint collaboration. Particular attention was paid to prospects for developing cooperation in the areas of digital financial management, public debt monitoring, sharing experience in issuing securities, as well as supporting project development with the involvement of development institutions and the development of new financing mechanisms.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their commitment to further strengthening their partnership and expanding practical cooperation in financial management, digital technologies, and investment projects.
