On October 7, Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir received Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Mark Bowman. This was reported by the ministry's press service.
During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding cooperation in key industrial sectors, including mineral extraction and processing, food production, and the development of the textile and mechanical engineering industries.
Sherali Kabir emphasized the strategic importance of attracting investment to modernize production facilities, introduce new technologies, and increase the competitiveness of Tajik enterprises in the international market.
In turn, EBRD Vice President Mark Bowman noted the bank's readiness to support projects aimed at developing Tajikistan's industrial potential and emphasized the importance of implementing innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence, to optimize production processes and improve economic efficiency.
The parties exchanged views on cooperation in attracting investment in new technologies and digitalizing the economy, discussed prospects for joint projects, and the possibility of expanding cooperation in supporting startups and scientific and technical initiatives.
The meeting marked an important step in strengthening bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, opening up additional opportunities for the implementation of strategic projects in the industrial sector and the development of the country's innovative economy.
