During a working visit to Moscow, Tajikistan's Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Tajikistan reported .
During the meeting, the parties discussed the further development of bilateral cooperation in energy, oil, gas, and petroleum product supplies. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of joint projects in the energy sector, including the activities of Sangtuda HPP-1.
Daler Juma noted Russia's important role in supplying Tajikistan's domestic market with petroleum products, emphasizing that effective cooperation in this area contributes to the stable functioning of the republic's energy system.
The parties also discussed the results achieved and ongoing issues related to the operation of the Sangtuda-1 Hydroelectric Power Plant, noting the importance of this facility for Tajikistan's energy supply. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of implementation of joint projects and confirmed their readiness to expand cooperation.
During the visit, the parties emphasized the need to further strengthen mutual cooperation and exchange experience and technologies in the energy sector, which will contribute to the sustainable development of the energy sector and improve the region's energy security.
