Tajik Quran reciter Merodziddin Akhmadzoda Akhmad took second place in the International Quran Recitation Competition, which took place in Kazakhstan and was dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the country's administration of Muslim affairs. This was announced on the official Instagram page of the Muftiate of Kazakhstan.
Representatives from several countries participated in the competition, demonstrating a high level of knowledge and correct recitation of the sacred text. Fahd ibn Muhammad al-Shami from Saudi Arabia took first place and received a cash prize of $20,000. Merojiddin Ahmadzoda Ahmad from Tajikistan took second place and was awarded $15,000.
Third place went to Shohan Ualiev from Kazakhstan, who received $10,000. Fourth place was shared between Salih Muhammad Muso Tohami from Egypt and Jalil Nuriddinov from Russia, who each received $5,000.
In addition, a special "Viewers' Choice" prize of $3,000 was awarded to Ahmad Ashraf Walid Hamad from Palestine. Senior participants who participated in the competition but did not win were awarded $500 each.
The organizers noted that the event contributed to strengthening cultural and spiritual ties between Muslim communities across different countries and provided a platform for exchanging experiences in the correct reading of the Quran.
