Tajikistan's Migration Service staff conduct daily outreach events for citizens traveling to work abroad, including in the Russian Federation, at Dushanbe International Airport.
According to the department, the purpose of these events is to raise awareness among migrant workers regarding safety, legal residence abroad, and preventing participation in prohibited organizations.
Particular attention is being paid to threats from extremist and terrorist groups using the internet to influence young people, sow discord, and fuel religious and interfaith conflicts. Citizens are advised to resist provocations and exercise caution when using social media and online platforms.
Migrant workers traveling to Russia are advised to check their passports in advance at Migration Service offices for entry bans and to familiarize themselves with the new Russian migration laws. Particular attention is paid to having at least a basic command of Russian, possessing professional documents, correctly completing the migration form, and strictly adhering to the rules of stay in the country.
In the event of any suspicious situations, citizens are advised to contact the competent authorities of the Russian Federation or the representative offices of the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan, as well as the embassies and consulates of the Republic of Tajikistan in Russia.
Following the meetings, participants are given informational brochures and recommendations for employment in their home countries, including work at large domestic companies such as Rogun Hydroelectric Power Station.
The Migration Service emphasized that holding such events is part of a series of measures to ensure the safety of migrant workers and strengthen the legal literacy of Tajik citizens traveling abroad.
