The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, met with the Chairperson of the Human Rights Committee of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Hala bint Mazid Al-Tuwajiri, who arrived in Dushanbe on an official visit.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, during the talks, the parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda of Tajik-Saudi relations, paying particular attention to cooperation in the areas of human rights, social protection, and women's rights.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that Tajikistan attaches great importance to developing a partnership with Saudi Arabia based on mutual respect and trust. He noted that expanding cooperation with the Kingdom in the humanitarian and human rights spheres opens new opportunities for exchanging experiences and implementing joint initiatives.
In turn, Dr. Hala bint Mazid Al-Tuwajiri expressed gratitude to the Tajik side for the warm welcome and emphasized the Saudi Arabian Human Rights Committee's readiness to actively cooperate with the relevant authorities in Tajikistan. According to her, special attention will be paid to strengthening cooperation in promoting women's rights and family values, as well as exchanging experience in human rights advocacy.
The parties also discussed prospects for developing dialogue between the two countries' relevant agencies, coordinating actions within international organizations, and supporting initiatives aimed at protecting human rights and freedoms.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the further deepening of Tajik-Saudi cooperation and agreed to continue the practice of bilateral consultations on a regular basis.
