Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Daler Juma met with Wu Lei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese company Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. During the talks, prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, including the development of renewable energy projects, were discussed.
According to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, the Chinese delegation received a presentation on investment opportunities and key areas of Tajikistan's energy sector. Particular attention was paid to attracting foreign investment in the construction of solar and wind power plants, the modernization of energy infrastructure, and the development of new energy efficiency technologies.
Representatives of Shanghai Electric have expressed interest in participating in major energy projects in Tajikistan. Priority areas include the construction of power transmission lines, waste-to-energy facilities, and the creation of a joint venture for the production of electromechanical equipment.
The parties emphasized that the implementation of such projects will contribute to strengthening Tajikistan's energy security, developing a green economy, and deepening cooperation with China in the industrial and investment sectors.
