The Tajikistan Chess Federation held an awards ceremony for 18-year-old chess player Ilkhom Jaloliddin and his coach, Musavi Khalil, the Federation reported.
The young athlete, who achieved the International Master (IM) standard, and his mentor were awarded cash certificates of 25,000 somoni each.
The Federation noted that the award recognizes not only Ilkhom Jaloliddin's personal achievements, but also the systematic work of his coach.
Ilkhom Jaloliddin is a graduate of the Specialized Sports School of Olympic Reserve No. 7 for Chess and Checkers in Dushanbe. In recent years, he has consistently demonstrated a high level of play and successfully represented Tajikistan in international competitions.
The Federation emphasized that such incentives contribute to the development of the chess movement and strengthen Tajikistan's position on the global stage.
