On the night of July 20-21, the armed forces of the Russian Federation carried out a large-scale air attack on the territory of Ukraine using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and missiles of various types. This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian side, the total number of air attack weapons used was 450 units, including 426 Shahed attack drones, as well as drone imitators. The attacks were carried out from the territory of the Russian Federation – in particular, from the areas of Bryansk, Orel, Millerovo, Shatalovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. The launches of:

five Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from the airspace of the Tambov region of the Russian Federation,
-
four Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea,

one Iskander-K missile from the Millerovo area,
-
fourteen X-101 cruise missiles from the territory of the Saratov region.
The report notes that the attack was repelled by units of anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare, aviation, unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 09:30, according to the Ukrainian side, at least 224 enemy air targets were destroyed or suppressed. In particular, the Ukrainian air defense claims to have shot down 200 Shahed attack drones. The remaining targets, according to the command, were suppressed by electronic warfare systems or lost due to technical reasons.
Direct hits were also recorded from 23 attack drones in three populated areas, and debris from downed drones fell in another 12 locations.
The most intense attacks were in Kyiv and the Ivano-Frankivsk region. In the capital of Ukraine, destruction was reported in the Goloseevsky, Darnytsky, Dniprovsky, Obolonsky, Svyatoshinsky and Solomensky districts. The National Police reported one death and seven injuries, including a 15-year-old girl.
In Ivano-Frankivsk, according to the mayor Ivan Martsinkiv, there was "the largest attack since the beginning of the war." Civilian infrastructure was damaged, and there were casualties in several settlements in the region.
At the time of publication, there were no official comments from the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding the incident.
