The Global Dialogue of City Mayors was held in Tianjin, northern China, as part of the SCO summit. The event brought together about 350 representatives from SCO member states, including China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Participants discussed strengthening cooperation in communications, trade, green development and cultural exchange. According to participants, the event is a key forum for global exchange and cooperation, and plays an important role in promoting a community with a shared future for mankind.
Deputy Secretary General of the SCO Janesh Kane: "Each of the cities represented here is not just a geographical point on the map, but a place where decisions were made that determined the SCO development strategy. It was in these cities that the principles of cooperation were formed, ties between peoples were strengthened, and the Shanghai spirit was revealed – the spirit of mutual trust, equality, dialogue and good neighborliness."
Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev: "We live in an era of global change: the growth of urban populations, climate change, the development of new technologies and challenges related to the sustainability of infrastructure require new forms of coordination and partnership from us. And it is precisely events like this that allow municipalities to be not just observers, but active participants in global processes. Cities of the SCO countries are not only economic and cultural centers. These are places where the daily agenda of the future is formed."
Tajik MP Parvina Nematova: "The use of modern information and communication technologies, the successful experience of Chinese cities and support within the SCO are the key to effective development and prosperity. We highly value the contribution of China and, in particular, Tianjin in promoting digital innovation. We are confident that further deepening of cooperation between the SCO member states will give new impetus to the sustainable growth of the entire region." (Photo: VCG)
