Despite the regular detection and prevention of drug smuggling in border areas, cases of drug transportation across the state border from Afghanistan to Tajikistan continue to be recorded, reports the Public Relations Center of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan.
It is noted that during the operational-search activities, employees of the national security agencies of Tajikistan detained citizen Saifullozoda Mustafa Saifullo, born in 1994, a native of the city of Kulyab, a resident of the Arbobkhotun mahalla of the Sino district of the city of Dushanbe, on suspicion of involvement in illegal drug trafficking, from whom drugs were confiscated in especially large quantities.
During the investigation, it was established that Mustafa Saifullozoda, by prior agreement with his criminal accomplice, an Afghan citizen named Khodji, approximately 45 years old, in exchange for a large sum of money, received narcotics from a hiding place, transported them by means of a personal passenger car, Toyota Corolla, state number 00-10 PU 01 TJ, to the city of Dushanbe. In the city of Dushanbe, he hid the narcotics in a hiding place on the territory of arable lands of the Djuibodom mahalla.
According to the conclusion of the forensic examination department of the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the seized substances are narcotic drugs of the hashish type, the total weight of which is 31 kilograms.
Based on this fact, the Investigative Department of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan for the Khatlon Region has opened a criminal case using Article 200, Part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan; a preliminary investigation is underway.
Upon completion of the preliminary investigation, by decision of the Ismoili Somoni District Court of Dushanbe, Saifullozoda Mustafa Saifullo was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Investigative actions are ongoing regarding an Afghan citizen named Khoja.
"It should be noted that the rapidly changing geopolitical situation further increases modern threats and dangers, and if not prevented and stopped, it can cause instability and destabilization and generally undermine regional security.
The world community is waging a united fight against the production and consumption, smuggling and distribution of drugs, and the Republic of Tajikistan, as a reliable shield of the region, is at the forefront of this fight.
Illegal drug trafficking is one of the major problems in the world, and interested circles hinder the progress of society, deal a blow to the national economy and prevent young people from engaging in creative work," emphasizes the Public Relations Center of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan.
