In accordance with the plan of the Interdepartmental Commission on Combating Human Trafficking under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a training seminar on the topic of "Combating Human Trafficking" was held at the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sughd Region. The event was organized for investigators of the internal affairs bodies, the prosecutor's office, the State Committee for National Security, the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as representatives of the Customs Service of the Sughd Region, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan reports.
The seminar had an educational and practical nature and was held with the participation of legal scholars, international experts and representatives of specialized organizations. Its main goal was to improve the professional training of investigators of various government agencies, strengthen their skills in preventing and investigating crimes related to human trafficking, and ensure the protection of the rights and freedoms of victims of this criminal activity.
The seminar was led by the Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs, candidate of legal sciences, Major General of Police Karim Khodzhievich Soliev. Among the invited lecturers were Professor of the Tajik National University Takdirshhoh Sharipov, coordinator of the program to combat human trafficking of the International Organization for Migration Bakhrom Rakhmatdzhonov, representative of the public organization "Themis" Goibnazar Davlatbekov, as well as employees of the Center for Combating Human Trafficking of the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the event, participants were provided with important information on strengthening the role of investigators in investigating criminal cases related to human trafficking. International regulations and standards, issues of interaction with victims, the specifics of identifying victims and the inadmissibility of bringing them to criminal liability were considered. Particular attention was paid to the criminal-legal qualification of crimes related to human trafficking, as well as issues of proper documentation and disclosure of such cases.
A separate topic was the challenges and problems that arise in the practice of investigative bodies, which the seminar participants discussed with the lecturers and received qualified answers.
The Republic of Tajikistan attaches great importance to human rights and the protection of their inviolability. The Interdepartmental Commission on Combating Human Trafficking, the coordination powers of which are assigned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, under the leadership of the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant General of Police Alamshozoda Abdurakhmon Alamsho, is actively working to prevent and combat this crime.
Thus, the training seminar became an important step in increasing the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies of the Sughd region in the fight against human trafficking and strengthening interagency cooperation.
