On the instructions of the Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Colonel General Rajabali Rahmonali, employees of the regional office of the Committee in Khatlon region, together with representatives of the jamoat of the village of Sarband, held a preventive meeting with believers in the central mosque of the city of Levakant, the press service of the Committee reports.
The main goal of the event was to prevent accidents related to drowning among teenagers, young people and other groups of the population in the summer, when recreation by the water becomes especially popular. The Committee representatives explained in detail the rules of safe behavior near water bodies and emphasized the need to observe basic safety precautions.
Particular attention was paid to the causes that lead to water tragedies, including insufficient supervision by parents, swimming in prohibited and dangerous places, failure to comply with safety rules, alcohol consumption, leaving children unattended, and ignoring warning signs and recommendations of emergency services.
The Committee's experts reminded that safety should be a priority for all vacationers, especially for parents who are obliged to supervise children and teenagers while swimming. Swimming should be done only in specially designated and safe places under adult supervision.
As part of the summer safety program, similar information and educational meetings will be continued in other regions of the country with the aim of reducing the number of emergency incidents and raising public awareness.
