On June 19, in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic, Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Tajikistan Yusuf Rahmon took part in the next meeting of the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the second meeting of the secretaries of the security councils of Central Asia – Russia, reports NIAT "Khovar".
“The meetings discussed priority areas of cooperation between the CSTO member states, threats to collective security, as well as various aspects of current regional and international issues.
The participants considered issues of ensuring regional and international security, modern threats and risks, including the fight against terrorism and extremism, drug trafficking, transnational crime and cybercrime, and also developed specific proposals for strengthening coordination and taking joint measures against threats and challenges.
During the meeting of the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the CSTO member states, Yusuf Rahmon spoke about the implementation of the first stage of the CSTO Interstate Target Program to strengthen the state border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan and expressed gratitude to the member states and the CSTO Secretary General for fruitful cooperation.
In conclusion, a number of important documents were signed that create favorable conditions for strengthening the collective security system in the region.
