At the regular meeting of the first session of the lower house of the parliament of Tajikistan, the Treaty between Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan on the junction point of the state borders of the three states was ratified. This was reported by the press service of the parliament of the republic.
The document was signed on March 31, 2025, during a trilateral meeting of Central Asian leaders – President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov. Ratification in the Tajik parliament was an important step in implementing the agreement, which is aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and security.
The summit in Sughd also saw the signing of the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship between the three countries, as well as a protocol on the exchange of ratification instruments for the alliance treaty. During the event, the Friendship Complex was opened on the border of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan – a monument symbolizing the strong and good-neighborly relations of the peoples of Central Asia.
The parties note that such agreements contribute to the resolution of border issues, strengthening trust and stability in the region, and also create the preconditions for the development of economic and humanitarian cooperation.
