In the capital of Tajikistan, subscriptions for paid parking have been introduced for car owners who regularly use parking zones in the central part of the city. This was reported by the State Unitary Enterprise "Smart City".
As explained by the company, the introduction of subscriptions is aimed at simplifying the payment procedure and reducing the load on the transport infrastructure. Car owners who have issued a subscription receive the right to an unlimited number of parking spaces during the validity period of the document – from one week to one year. Payment is made one time.
“Available tariff plans allow each driver to choose the best option – for a week, a month, three months, six months or a year,” Smart City clarified.
Subscription rates are:
"Hafta" – 1 week – 140 somoni;
"Mohona" – 1 month – 500 somoni;
"Semokha" – 3 months – 1300 somoni;
"Nimsola" – 6 months – 2300 somoni;
"Solona" – 12 months – 4000 somoni. To apply for a subscription, you must register on the official website neru.tj or use the Neru mobile application. It is also possible to pay via the DS NEXT e-wallet. Drivers must indicate the state registration number of the car and the region of its registration.
The first 10 minutes of parking are free. After that, a fee of 3 somoni is charged for each hour. Emergency vehicles, as well as vehicles registered to persons with disabilities of groups I and II, are exempt from the fee.
Paid parking operates in key areas of the city:
- Rudaki Avenue (near the Sadbarg shopping center);
- Aini street (near the Gelos shopping center);
- Tursunzade street (near the Kurushi Kabir park);
- Valamatzade street (from the Shokhmansur district administration to the Yokut-2000 factory).
The automated parking system project has been implemented since June 20, 2024, within the framework of an investment agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and a consortium of investors. Its operator is the State Unitary Enterprise Smart City, and the initiative itself is part of the Dushanbe Socio-Economic Development Program until 2025, the Green Economy Strategy for 2023–2037, and the Electric Transport Development Program for 2023–2028.
As noted in the design documentation, the automated parking system is aimed at streamlining traffic, reducing congestion, improving road safety and introducing modern digital solutions into the urban infrastructure sector.
