In the first half of 2026, Tajikistan's anti-hail protection services significantly increased their work to protect agricultural crops from hail. This was announced at a press conference by the Tajik Emergency Situations Committee.
According to the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense, seven anti-hail units, 30 missile launch sites, and all necessary specialized equipment were prepared for the start of the season.
In total, the service had 1,191 anti-hail rockets at its disposal, 925 of which were used to prevent hail in 164 hazardous areas of the country. Another 266 rockets remain in reserve.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of rockets used increased by 611 units , and the number of protected areas grew from 54 to 164 , indicating a significant expansion in the scale of anti-hail measures.
The Emergency Situations Committee emphasized that the anti-hail service's work is aimed at protecting agricultural crops, orchards, and vineyards from damage that could be caused by heavy hail.
