Approximately 160,000 Tajik citizens have been added to the Russian Federation's registry of controlled individuals. Of these, 25,000 are minors. This was announced by Tajikistan's Deputy Minister of Labor, Migration, and Employment, Sharif Norzoda, responding to a TASS question during a press conference summarizing the ministry's performance in the first half of the year.
According to Norzod, the minors are included in the registry because they are members of families who have left for Russia.
The Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment noted that the registry is updated every four hours to include new individuals who need to legalize their stay in the Russian Federation.
According to the Deputy Minister, more than 10,700 labor migrants who returned from Russia have already found employment in Tajikistan.
The agency also reported that over 15,000 citizens contacted the republic's migration service during the reporting period. As a result, 3,953 Tajik citizens temporarily banned from entering Russia were prevented from making unauthorized travel.
The Register of Controlled Persons was created on February 5, 2025. It operates on the official website of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services. The register includes information on foreign citizens who have lost their legal right to stay in Russia.
It was previously reported that more than 124,000 Tajik citizens were listed on the registry. Later, 68,000 people were removed from it, and another 38,000 Tajik citizens were able to legalize their stay in the Russian Federation.
