The fifth meeting of the Tajikistan-India Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism was held in Dushanbe on June 24, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further expanding bilateral cooperation in the area of combating international terrorism, organized crime, and drug trafficking.



The meeting participants also discussed issues of exchanging experience in these areas, increasing the potential of law enforcement agencies in the two countries, and strengthening cooperation within the United Nations and regional organizations.
As noted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Joint Working Group of Tajikistan and India on Combating Terrorism operates on the basis of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Republic of India on the establishment of a Joint Working Group on Combating Terrorism, signed on January 30, 2003, in Dushanbe.
