The National Bank of Tajikistan has clarified the "Procedure for the Implementation of a Special Regulatory Regime within the Pilot Project on Taxation of Individual Entrepreneurs" to prevent misunderstandings among the public and entrepreneurs. This was reported by the regulator's press service.
The National Bank emphasized that the new pilot project does not apply to individual money transfers, including transfers between family members, relatives, and other individuals, unless such transactions are commercial in nature. Therefore, such transfers are not subject to taxation.
The main goal of the pilot project, as noted by the National Bank, is to create favorable conditions for individual entrepreneurs, simplify taxation processes, and develop cashless payments.
According to the clarification, the project will reduce the tax rate for individual entrepreneurs from 6% to 3%, and tax calculation will be automatic. Furthermore, to encourage cashless payments, a 1% tax refund will be given to the buyer or payer.
The National Bank of Tajikistan also stated that the use of electronic wallets, bank cards, and other modern payment methods is safe, and that banking secrecy is fully protected.
The regulator urged citizens and businesses not to trust unconfirmed information and to rely solely on official information from authorized bodies.
The National Bank added that it will continue to take necessary measures to develop non-cash payments, improve the quality of financial services, and ensure the stability of the banking system.
If citizens have any questions, they are advised to contact their credit institutions or directly call the National Bank of Tajikistan's hotline: 44-600-15-20.
