On April 3, Khatlon Region Chairman Davlatali Said, during a working visit to the Panj District, inspected the progress of Moroccan Locust prevention and control efforts in the Aspres area. This was reported by the press service of the Khatlon Region Chairman.
During the briefing, it was reported that the Moroccan locust's appearance this year began on March 4. To date, the pest has been detected in the district's mountainous areas, covering an area of 477 hectares. It was noted that treatment and control efforts have been completed throughout this entire area.






Necessary measures are being taken to eradicate the pest. Machinery and specialized equipment are being deployed with the assistance of local residents and activists. Specifically, three tractors with attachments, two Toyota vehicles, one UAZ truck, two water-dispensing trucks, and 40 hand-held sprayers are being used in the work.
The Panj District locust control expedition reportedly received 240 liters of pesticides for control operations. Daily treatment is ongoing.


The Chairman of the Khatlon Region, after reviewing the progress of the work, praised the efforts of those responsible and emphasized that timely prevention of the spread of the Moroccan locust is crucial for preserving agricultural crops.
At the same time, responsible officials were given specific instructions to strengthen control measures, effectively use equipment and materials, and ensure full coverage of all risk areas.
