Tajikistan recorded an increase in food, beverage, and tobacco production in January 2026, according to the Tajikistan Statistics Agency.
According to the agency, overall food production increased by 10.2 percent compared to the same period last year. Significant growth was recorded in certain categories: sausage production increased by 16.9 percent, canned goods doubled, and pasta production increased by 1.2 percent.
Also in January 2026, industrial production in the textile and clothing industry increased by 31.6 percent. Key indicators included a 37.9 percent increase in carpet production, while cotton fiber production increased by 1.5 times.
During the reporting period, 3,931 industrial enterprises operated in the country. Of these, 363 were in the extractive industry, 3,395 in manufacturing, 72 in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning, and 101 in water supply and waste treatment.
The distribution of industrial enterprises by region is as follows: 1,308 enterprises (33.3 percent) are in the Sughd region, 915 (23.3 percent) in the Khatlon region, 833 (21.2 percent) in Dushanbe, 682 (17.3 percent) in the RRS, and 193 (4.9 percent) in GBAO.
Production growth was noted in both the food and textile industries, indicating the continuing development of the country's manufacturing sector.
