The Persian Gulf countries—Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Saudi Arabia—declared their readiness to respond to attacks from Iran. A joint statement was issued following the meeting.
The document states that the Ministerial Council confirmed that, in light of Iran's unjustified aggression against the Council's states, all necessary measures will be taken to protect their security and stability, as well as their territories, citizens and persons living there, including the right to retaliatory action.
Earlier, the British, German, and French governments declared their readiness to use military force if Iran does not cease its indiscriminate and disproportionate attacks on their allies in the Middle East. A joint statement from the three countries was released by the German government press service.
The document notes that Iran's strikes pose a threat to military personnel and citizens of these three countries. They called on Iran to immediately cease the attacks.
"We will take steps to protect our interests and those of our allies in the region, including, if necessary, taking necessary and proportionate defensive measures to destroy Iran's missile and drone launch capabilities at their launch sites," the statement said.
It is also emphasized that the countries agreed to coordinate actions with the United States and other allies.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran. Iran retaliated by launching strikes against Israel and the Persian Gulf countries where American military bases are located.
