The Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification and Trade Inspection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan (Tajikstandart) has officially issued a warning about the ban on the sale and use of certain batches of Nestlé products under the NAN trademark.
According to the agency, the products in question do not comply with regulatory requirements. Therefore, and based on the importer's request, sales and consumption of these products have been immediately suspended, and the goods are subject to recall.
Citizens are strongly advised not to use the specified products, and those who have already purchased them are advised to return the goods to the place of purchase.
Currently, employees of the Trade Inspection of Tajikstandart, together with representatives of the importing company, are carrying out the necessary measures.
The department noted that further information on the results of the work completed and further decisions will be provided in the coming days.
Nestlé previously reported a potential risk of the presence of the toxin cereulide in raw materials supplied by an external contractor.
Similar measures were previously taken in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia and a number of European countries.
