The Sebzor hydroelectric power station in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, which was commissioned in June 2025, already has the potential to export electricity to neighboring countries, according to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan.
As part of a working visit, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic, Daler Juma, visited the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, where he was inspected for work on the region's energy facilities.
During the visit, the head of the ministry familiarized himself with the work of the recently constructed Sebzor hydroelectric power station, where he was provided with information on its performance indicators.
In particular, Daler Juma was informed that since its commissioning, the hydroelectric power station has generated more than 21 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, providing electricity to hundreds of thousands of residents of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
Construction of the Sebzor small hydroelectric power station in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region on the Shokhdara River began in 2015 at the direction of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon. The hydroelectric power station consists of three units, with a total installed capacity of 11 MW.
The facility was commissioned on June 26, 2025. Experts note that the Sebzor hydroelectric power station has the potential to export electricity to neighboring countries.
