Three Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike in western Gaza City, local health sources reported.
According to reports, the attack targeted a vehicle carrying civilians on Er-Reshid El-Bahri Street. Three Palestinians were killed in the strike, and another vehicle near the target was damaged.
In an official statement published on the social media site X, the Israeli army stated that the operation targeted a senior Hamas official. According to Israeli media, the strike targeted Raed Saad, a member of Hamas's military wing, the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades, who is reportedly one of the organization's two key commanders.
The operation was reportedly carried out jointly by the Israeli army and the Shin Bet internal intelligence agency. Military officials emphasized that the strike targeted a member of Hamas's military wing.
As a reminder, on October 9, US President Donald Trump announced the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire plan agreed upon by Israel and Hamas during negotiations in Egypt. The agreement entered into force on October 10 after approval by the Israeli government. Under the terms of the ceasefire, the Israeli army withdrew from the Yellow Line, which was intended to facilitate the ceasefire.
