Inter-MFA consultations on "Foreign Policy Planning of the Foreign Ministries of the CIS Member States" took place on December 10 at the Commonwealth of Independent States headquarters in Minsk, the press service of the Organization's Executive Committee reported.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee.
During the consultations, participants discussed the general international situation and its main development trends. It was noted that the world is undergoing rapid changes, encompassing all spheres of life. Representatives noted the steady trend toward the emergence of a multipolar world order, amid the growing collective potential and strengthening of the international positions of the majority states and interstate associations in Eurasia, Africa, and Latin America.
Diplomats emphasized the need to adapt the architecture of international cooperation to new realities, taking into account the legitimate interests of all states to ensure peace, equal security, and equitable development.
The meeting focused on the importance of the CIS platform for discussing security issues in Eurasia and the need to resolve regional conflicts and problems with the regional states themselves playing a leading role.
Following the consultations, the participants expressed interest in further developing and strengthening working contacts between the foreign ministries of the Commonwealth countries.
