On December 5, 2025, a ceremony dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Special Police Detachment of the Special Forces Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan was held in the building of the Special Forces Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan.
The celebration was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel General Rahimzoda Ramazon Khamro, heads of departments and units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, command and personnel, veterans, family members of OMON officers who died in the line of duty, and other distinguished guests.
In his speech, Colonel General Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro congratulated the leadership, personnel, and veterans of the special forces units on the anniversary and wished them good health, prosperity, and continued success in their careers.
The Minister highlighted the unit's accomplishments during a difficult time. He noted that the Special Police Detachment was established on December 5, 1995, amid instability and civil unrest to thwart the criminal activities of organized groups. It included courageous, brave, and spiritually fortified young people who demonstrated courage and resilience during combat encounters, honed their professional skills, and today constitute one of the most reliable structures ensuring the country's security.
Colonel General Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro emphasized that the unit's personnel are highly valued by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, who notes their dedicated work in ensuring stability and peace, combating organized crime, and demonstrating courageous service.
The Minister also noted the high spirit of patriotism, respect for the state, and devotion to the Motherland, thanks to which the Directorate's employees demonstrated heroism in various regions of the country. He expressed confidence that the unit's employees will continue to conscientiously fulfill their duties for the sake of public security and stability.
As part of the ceremony, in accordance with the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs, 246 employees of the special forces units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were awarded medals and badges of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Certificates of Honor, letters of thanks, diplomas, cash prizes, and commemorative gifts for conscientious and dedicated service.
The event concluded with a demonstration of tactical exercises, during which those present were shown elements of operations to "neutralize a terrorist group and free hostages in a multi-story building," "neutralize a criminal group in a residential building," and "neutralize terrorists in transport and defuse an improvised explosive device."
