The inclusion of logistics centers and terminals in the ESCAP dry port network will enable their inclusion on official maps and in UN databases, creating additional opportunities for strengthening international cooperation, developing Tajikistan's transit potential, and attracting investment in national transport and logistics infrastructure.
The Intergovernmental Agreement on Dry Ports was signed on May 1, 2013, in Bangkok and entered into force on April 23, 2016. Seventeen ESCAP member countries are parties to the agreement, including Tajikistan, Russia, China, India, the Republic of Korea, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. The document regulates the operation of dry ports, where cargo handling, temporary storage, inspection, customs control, as well as the reception, dispatch, consolidation, distribution, and transshipment of goods are carried out.
