On November 6, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon attended and delivered a speech at a working dinner in Washington, DC, as part of the second Central Asia-USA (C5+1) summit.
According to the press service of the President of Tajikistan, the head of state expressed gratitude to the leader of the host country, the esteemed Donald Trump, for the invitation and warm welcome. In his speech, Emomali Rahmon noted the importance of developing cooperation between Tajikistan and the Central Asian countries with the United States, emphasizing that peace, stability, and sustainable security are "the fundamental basis of all economic and trade relations."
The President of Tajikistan paid special attention to issues of expanding economic cooperation, increasing trade turnover between the countries, and attracting investment in promising sectors of the national economy.
Given Tajikistan's significant hydropower resources and advantageous geographic location, Emomali Rahmon emphasized the country's readiness to further develop cooperation with partners to strengthen the green energy sector and transmit electricity to neighboring countries.
In this context, Tajikistan expressed interest in strengthening and expanding cooperation with international partners in these areas.
Emomali Rahmon also noted that investments in the extraction and processing of minerals are among the priority and promising areas of the Tajik economy.
In conclusion, the head of state emphasized that, given its economic potential, Tajikistan can play a significant role in strengthening sustainable production and trade chains through expanded cooperation and partnership.
