The UK recently delivered a new batch of long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles to Ukraine, designed to strike Russia, Bloomberg reports, citing sources.
The exact number of missiles transferred is not specified. According to sources, the missiles were delivered before the onset of winter, when London fears the Russian side may intensify attacks on Ukrainian civilians.
Furthermore, Britain and its allies are seeking to demonstrate to Russian President Vladimir Putin that Western support for Ukraine will be more effective than the Russian economy's contribution to the continuation of the war under sanctions.
The Ukrainian army first used Storm Shadow missiles against targets in Russia in November 2024, the day after the first attack by American ATACMS missiles on Russian territory, authorized by then-US President Joe Biden.
In October 2025, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported a "massive combined missile and air strike," including Storm Shadow missiles, on the Bryansk Chemical Plant, which, according to the Ukrainian side, produces gunpowder, explosives, and rocket fuel components. There was no official confirmation of the attack from the Russian authorities.
Earlier, in early November 2024, the United Kingdom transferred several dozen Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine. The delivery was not publicly announced. Agency sources emphasized that the exact number of missiles sent is not being disclosed for operational security reasons.
Moreover, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainian strikes on Russian military facilities and oil refineries in 2025 were carried out using drones.
