The Second Dushanbe International Tourism Exhibition (DITE-2025) was held in the capital of Tajikistan from September 18 to 20, confirming the city's status as a key hub for international tourism and a platform for promoting the region's tourism opportunities. Dilshod Jamshed, Head of the Tourism Development Department of the Dushanbe City Executive Authority, reported this in an interview with NIAT Khovar.
The exhibition, organized with the support of the Dushanbe City Executive Authority, the Tourism Development Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Somon Travel, brought together over 200 companies, including 65 international participants from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. Over the course of three days, the event attracted over 10,500 visitors, a 50% increase over the first exhibition in 2024, according to the organizers.
"Statistics show that interest in the exhibition is growing every year. DITE is gradually becoming an influential regional and international platform for showcasing Tajikistan's tourism potential and attracting investment," emphasized Dilshod Jamshed.
According to him, the participation of foreign companies not only enhances the capital's international recognition but also creates conditions for establishing sustainable cooperation and attracting investment in the tourism industry. Many foreign companies have expressed their willingness to develop joint tourism projects, including marketing campaigns and tour organization.
The DITE-2025 exhibition program was distinguished by its scale and diversity. Regional sessions and master classes addressed sustainable tourism development, digitalization, and the implementation of innovative solutions in the industry. Guests were particularly interested in the national food festival, which featured traditional Tajik dishes such as plov, fatirmaska, and shirchoy, allowing visitors to experience the spirit of Tajik hospitality and learn about the country's cultural heritage.
"Each part of the exhibition played a vital role. In addition to the cultural program, the B2B meetings allowed companies to discuss cooperation terms and conclude agreements and memoranda of intent," noted Dilshod Jamshed.
He also emphasized that DITE-2025 served as an effective platform for attracting foreign investment in priority tourism sectors, including ecotourism, sports, cultural, and medical tourism. Particular attention was paid to national holidays such as Navruz, Tirgon, Mehrgon, and Sada, which are presented as tourism brands of Tajikistan.
DITE organizers plan to expand the exhibition in 2026, increasing the number of participants and countries, developing new areas such as ecotourism, medical, cultural, and sports tourism, and strengthening the digital platform for sharing experiences and presenting company services.
The DITE exhibition combines commercial and cultural objectives, providing opportunities to promote domestic tourism, attract investment, and showcase national culture. Experts believe that thanks to such events, Dushanbe is gradually becoming an international tourism hub for Central Asia, capable of attracting tourists and investors from around the world.
