From January to July 2025, agricultural production in Tajikistan increased by 5% compared to the same period last year, according to Khurshed Kasimov, Head of the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Protection Statistics at the Presidential Statistics Agency.
According to him, the development of the agricultural sector is ensured by the measures taken and government support, which allows for an annual increase in production.
Gross agricultural output across all farm categories during the reporting period amounted to 32 billion 260.1 million somoni. Of this, crop production accounted for 21 billion 228.7 million somoni (an increase of 1.9%), and livestock farming accounted for 11 billion 031.4 million somoni (an increase of 11.4%).
Khatlon Region made the largest contribution to the industry's development, accounting for 54.5% of the country's total agricultural production. Over the first seven months of the year, it produced 17 billion 600.5 million somoni worth of goods, representing a 4.1% increase over the previous year.
According to the Statistics Agency, public farms accounted for 14.4% of agricultural output, including 20.8% in the Sughd Region, 11.9% in the Khatlon Region, 6.6% in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, and 11.4% in cities and districts of republican subordination. The largest share of production comes from dehkan farms (38.8%), followed by private subsidiary farms (46.8%).
Thus, Tajikistan's agricultural sector continues to demonstrate stable positive dynamics, maintaining its key importance in ensuring the country's food security.
