The Asian Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship among youths under 15 years old has started in Bishkek, in which representatives of Tajikistan are successfully competing.
As reported by the Wrestling Federation of Tajikistan, on the first day of the competition, Tajik young athletes demonstrated high results and won 7 awards of various denominations – 3 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals.
Gold medals were won in the following weight categories:
up to 38 kg – Abubakr Yunuszoda
up to 48 kg – Shamsiddin Makhmadaliev
up to 62 kg – Komron Mirzoev
The silver medal was won by a wrestler in the 41 kg category, Sukhrob Nazarov.
The team won bronze medals:
Jahongir Safarov (up to 44 kg)
Muso Yusupov (up to 52 kg)
Firdavs Khakimov (up to 68 kg)
The Asian U-15 Championship is held under the auspices of the United World Wrestling (UWW) and has brought together the continent's strongest young athletes.
The Tajikistan team continues to participate in the tournament, and performances in other weight categories are expected in the coming days. The leadership of the Federation and the Ministry of Sports expressed congratulations to the athletes and coaches for a worthy start to the competition.
