On May 16, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, continuing his working visit to the Dangara district of the Khatlon region, commissioned a new enterprise of the Oxus InterAsia Limited Liability Company in the Dangara Free Economic Zone, the press service of the head of state reported.
The new industrial enterprise was built with the involvement of foreign investment and the best European technology and equipment, its activities are aimed at the production of tobacco products using the world's number one technology. The volume of investment in the workshop in two stages is 27 million dollars.
During his familiarization with the activities of this enterprise, Emomali Rahmon was informed that the industrial enterprise will produce 15 types of tobacco products, with a production capacity of 3 billion pieces per year. It was noted that the enterprise will operate at full capacity during the next year.
The limited liability company "Oxus Interasia" was created on an area of 2 hectares, it provides permanent employment to 80 people, 70% of whom are local residents.
During a conversation with officials of the new enterprise, the President of the country praised the development of bilateral and multilateral relations between Tajikistan and development partners and foreign investors in important socio-economic sectors and described the new facility as a clear example of cooperation in the industrial sector.
The head of state emphasized that today in Tajikistan more than 100 types of tax and customs privileges and concessions are provided for the development of entrepreneurial and investment activities, which contributes to the development of trade, services and production.
Here, Emomali Rahmon familiarized himself with the construction project of the limited liability company “Somon Food Khatlon”.
During the presentation of the project, it was reported that the industrial enterprise is being built with the involvement of 7 million dollars of foreign investment and will be put into operation by the end of this year. Its main activity will be the production of fruit juices.
According to the plan, up to 300 jobs will be created at the enterprise.
The plant's capacity is 100 thousand tons per year; it will produce 15 types of fruit juices, aimed at supplying the domestic market and exporting abroad.
Currently, 37 domestic and foreign companies are registered as entities in the Dangara Free Economic Zone, created on an area of 541 hectares.
In order to achieve the fourth national goal – accelerated industrialization of the country and improving the well-being of the population – a total of about 600 jobs have currently been created in the Dangara Free Economic Zone.
The volume of investments in 2024 due to the subjects of the Free Economic Zone amounted to 34 million somoni, and the total investment potential since the beginning of operations is more than 2 billion somoni.
Currently, the subjects of the Free Economic Zone "Dangara" have established the production of petroleum products, metal structures, polyethylene pipes, construction decorative products, processing of dried fruits and other types of activities. The volume of industrial production in 2024 amounted to 54 million somoni.
